Hi all! Katura & her mom just dropped me off after a quick trip and long ride. We had a great visit with Karin's family- cousins, aunt, Nina, Grant, Steve and even stole a few minutes of holding and snuggling the kids. The service was a wonderful tribute with friends, a cousin, her dad and Steve saying incredible words about Karin and her legacy. Grant thanked all the support from her friends (mentioning specifically from MICDS) and very wonderfully honored Steve in his love and care for his daughter. It was very difficult hearing Steve talk about Karin, as he paused often as he twisted his wedding ring, stating that his strength is not there, but it's a choice to live in faith and a choice to honor his love is clear. They also decided to dedicate the two younger children, Kien and Aria, to the church as part of the funeral process to honor her legacy by welcoming them into the church. Her family's love and support of Steve is amazing and very touching. It is clear that her entire extended family has remained close and we all there to support each other and welcome her friends as if they have known us all for years (which several Katura and I did truly meet almost 10 years ago at their wedding in Toronto). Please remember to continue to pray and offer our support for Steve as he is left with 3 children that are grieving as well. That is her parent's biggest concern right now is supporting Steve & the kids as he struggles with being a single dad, at 35, with 3 kids, 2 of which are under 2. Well, I don't know what else to say besides, love your friends and family well, and take care of yourself! For truly every day is special (which was also reiterated throughout everyone's tribute) and, in the honor of Karin, Have a Day!!!
